Spotlight: Dodge Challenger SRT8 ‘Yellow Jacket’ concept

January 13, 2012

Musclecars should always be loud and brash, and this one-off Dodge Challenger ‘Yellow Jacket’ (named after a Dodge concept-car from back in ’69) SRT8 392 shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show back in Nov. 2011, fits the bill.

The mechanicals are no different than a regular SRT8 with the tarmac-blazing 6.4L 470bhp Hemi underneath, but the aesthetic changes are all bespoke to this car.

From the vibrant ‘Yellow Stinger’ paint boldly contrasting with the old-school body-length black stripe with ‘Yellow Jacket’ emblazoned across the rear flanks to the aggressive 20″ wheels and eye-catching (yet subtle) interior… this aesthetic design-concept harkens back to those times of yore when driving/owning a Musclecar was all about fun, flash and fanfare.

Fiat nudging (er, allowing?) Chrysler/Dodge to have a bit of fun via inspiration from the past… Perhaps being owned by car-worshipping Italians won’t turn out to be such a bad thing after all…? *fingers crossed*
